The LPG cylinder price today in India for Tuesday, 27 October 2026 is the same as yesterday’s LPG price. A 14.2 kg home cylinder still costs ₹942 in Delhi. The rate has held since 7 June 2026. The 19 kg commercial cylinder still reflects the rise of 1 October 2026. Below you will find the four metro rates and capital city prices for all 28 states. For booking help and background, see our main India LPG price page.

LPG price in every state and Union Territory capital
The same 14.2 kg cylinder carries a different price in each state. Oil companies fix it city by city, so we use each capital as the reference. A town near your capital may pay a few rupees more or less. Your bill shows the final figure.

| Lakshadweep | Kavaratti | Not available | Not available |
| Puducherry | Puducherry | 954.00 | 2,982.00 |
Why are Ladakh and Lakshadweep not available? Goodreturns has no page for either. Other sites disagree on Leh by more than ₹100, and Kavaratti appears on only one small site. We leave a gap rather than print a guess.
Where sources differ. A Rajya Sabha reply reported by The Indian Express (20 July 2026) matches our table for nearly every capital. It shows Patna at ₹1,040 and Shimla at ₹986.50, a little off the current Goodreturns figures we use. Please confirm with your distributor.
Which capitals pay the most and the least?
The six cheapest capitals sit within ₹8 of each other. They are Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Jaipur, Bhopal and Gandhinagar. All six are between ₹941.50 and ₹949.50. At the top end sit four North-East capitals: Agartala, Gangtok, Aizawl and Imphal. Each is above ₹1,093. We looked at why in Monday’s post.

Spotlight: what one kg of LPG costs at home and at a business
Cylinder prices are hard to compare because the two cylinders hold different amounts of gas. The home cylinder holds 14.2 kg. The commercial one holds 19 kg. Dividing the price by the weight puts both on the same footing.
| City | Domestic per kg (₹) | Commercial per kg (₹) | Commercial vs domestic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Delhi | 66.34 | 147.89 | 2.2 times |
| Mumbai | 66.30 | 145.50 | 2.2 times |
| Kolkata | 68.17 | 155.47 | 2.3 times |
| Chennai | 67.43 | 157.00 | 2.3 times |

In Delhi a kg of home LPG works out to about ₹66.34. A kg from the commercial cylinder costs about ₹147.89. That is roughly 2.2 times as much. The pattern is the same in Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.
Why is the gap so wide? Commercial LPG is sold at market price. Home LPG is kept lower, and the oil companies carry a loss on it (see the section on under-recovery below). We have not found an official breakdown for each city, so read this as a general reason and not a sourced split.
A simple tip for small eateries and home cooks alike: compare offers per kg, not per cylinder. Smaller cylinders can look cheap but may cost more for each kg of gas. Our report on the 5 kg FTL cylinder (April 2026) put it at ₹549, which is about ₹110 a kg. Check the weight printed on the cylinder and on your bill.
Recent LPG price changes
We found two domestic price changes in 2026. Goodreturns says the domestic cylinder is up ₹89 since November 2025. The commercial price has moved much more.
| Date | Cylinder | Change (₹) | Delhi price after the change (₹) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7 March 2026 | Domestic 14.2 kg | +60.00 | 913.00 |
| 7 June 2026 | Domestic 14.2 kg | +29.00 | 942.00 |
| June 2026 | Commercial 19 kg | Peak | 3,113.50 |
| 1 July 2026 | Commercial 19 kg | −183.50 | 2,930.00 (calculated) |
| 1 August 2026 | Commercial 19 kg | −192.00 | 2,738.00 (calculated) |
| 1 September 2026 | Commercial 19 kg | +9.50 | 2,747.50 |
| 1 October 2026 | Commercial 19 kg | +62.50 | 2,810.00 |

What decides the LPG price in India
The Saudi contract price
India imports a large share of its LPG. The Saudi contract price is the reference. For October 2026 it was $680 a tonne for propane and $730 for butane. In September it was $625 and $660. Both rose. These figures come from Reuters (1 October 2026). The November price had not been announced as of 27 October 2026.
The loss on each cylinder
Oil companies sell the domestic cylinder below cost. The loss is called under-recovery. The chairman of HPCL said the loss was ₹245 a cylinder in October. He expects it to reach ₹327 in November, as reported by Moneycontrol on 23 October 2026. A larger loss does not mean a price rise is coming. It does show the pressure on the companies.
Subsidy and booking rules
The Rajya Sabha reply quoted by The Indian Express says the effective price for Ujjwala (PMUY) households is ₹642 for a 14.2 kg cylinder. The market price is ₹942 in Delhi. The difference is the targeted subsidy.
- From 7 September 2026 the booking gap is 25 days for all consumers, as reported by The Hindu.
- Biometric Aadhaar checks for domestic users began on 1 October 2026, as reported by The Times of India.
- Mint reported on 26 October 2026 that this e-KYC rule will be enforced more strictly in November. Households that have not finished it may not be able to book a subsidised refill until they do. If you already completed it, you do not need to repeat it.
How to check the price in your own town
- Open your latest cash memo or bill. The amount charged is the real price for you.
- Look at your LPG company’s app or website and open the booking screen. It shows the amount before you pay.
- Ask your distributor for the current rate and the delivery charge. Ask if the charge is already included.
- Compare it with the capital price on this page. A small difference is normal. A large one is worth a question.
Before you book a November refill, open your LPG app and check that your Aadhaar e-KYC shows as complete. A quick check now can save a blocked booking later.
What to expect next
Oil companies usually review LPG prices on the 1st of each month. The next review would normally fall on 1 November 2026, a week before Diwali on 8 November. No change has been announced as of 27 October 2026. We publish a fresh page every morning and will flag any change at the top. Past pages are in our daily LPG price archive.
