The LPG cylinder price today in India for Tuesday, 3 November 2026 holds where it was after the 1 November revision. The 14.2 kg home cylinder costs ₹942 in Delhi. That is the same as yesterday’s LPG price and the same since 7 June 2026. The 19 kg commercial cylinder stays at ₹2,820 in Delhi. Our rate source has now loaded its November list, so the capital tables below show the new commercial rates. You will find the four metro rates and capital city prices for all 28 states. For booking help and background, see our main India LPG price page.
Today’s spotlight looks at the commercial cylinder over three months. Shops and eateries have paid more on the 1st of September, October and November. We show how much in each metro and what it adds to a small kitchen’s monthly bill.
Last updated: prices checked on the morning of Tuesday, 3 November 2026. The rates come from Goodreturns (page dated 3rd Nov, 2026, checked on 3 November 2026). We cross-checked the four metros with the Goodreturns news report and India.com of 2 November 2026, and with PTI reports of 1 November. Delhi and Chennai match in every source. All prices are in rupees (₹) per cylinder unless we say per kg.

Where sources differ. Live Hindustan (1 November 2026) shows Patna at ₹1,040 and Shillong at ₹1,007.50 for the home cylinder. Goodreturns shows ₹1,031.50 and ₹1,009. A Rajya Sabha reply reported by The Indian Express (20 July 2026) also showed Patna at ₹1,040. We print the Goodreturns figures in the table. Please confirm with your distributor.
Which capitals pay the most and the least?
The six cheapest capitals sit within ₹8 of each other. They are Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Jaipur, Bhopal and Gandhinagar. All six are between ₹941.50 and ₹949.50. At the top end sit four North-East capitals: Agartala, Gangtok, Aizawl and Imphal. Each is above ₹1,093. We looked at why in our post of 26 October.

Spotlight: commercial LPG over three months in the metros
Homes have paid the same price since June. Hotels, sweet shops and small eateries have not. The 19 kg commercial cylinder went up on 1 September, 1 October and 1 November. Here is how the four metros moved.
| City | September (₹) | October (₹) | From 1 November (₹) | Up since September (₹) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Delhi | 2,747.50 | 2,810.00 | 2,820.00 | +72.50 |
| Mumbai | 2,701.00 | 2,764.50 | 2,775.00 | +74.00 |
| Kolkata | 2,884.00 | 2,954.00 | 2,971.00 | +87.00 |
| Chennai | 2,916.50 | 2,983.00 | 2,994.50 | +78.00 |
Kolkata saw the biggest rise at ₹87. Delhi saw the smallest at ₹72.50. Most of the climb came on 1 October. The November step was small in every city. Chennai is still the costliest of the four and Mumbai the cheapest.

What it adds to a small kitchen bill
Take a small Delhi eatery that uses 10 commercial cylinders a month. In September it paid 10 × ₹2,747.50 = ₹27,475. In November it pays 10 × ₹2,820 = ₹28,200. That is ₹725 more each month. These are our own example sums based on the Delhi price. Your count of cylinders will differ.
Per kg, how the two cylinders compare
In Delhi a kg of gas in the commercial cylinder costs about ₹148.42. In the home cylinder it costs about ₹66.34. So commercial gas costs a little over 2.2 times as much per kg. The home price is set with policy in mind. The commercial price follows the market and the Saudi benchmark more closely.
A simple tip for shop owners
Commercial rates usually change on the 1st of the month. Keep your cash memos and compare the rate with the new month’s list. If you buy several cylinders, ask your distributor whether delivery is included in the bill. Diwali is on 8 November, so plan your order early if you expect a busy week.
Recent LPG price changes
We found two domestic price changes in 2026 and none on 1 November. Goodreturns says the domestic cylinder is up ₹89 since November 2025. The commercial price has moved much more. The 1 November rise was small next to the jump of 1 October.
| Date | Cylinder | Change (₹) | Delhi price after the change (₹) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7 March 2026 | Domestic 14.2 kg | +60.00 | 913.00 |
| 7 June 2026 | Domestic 14.2 kg | +29.00 | 942.00 |
| June 2026 | Commercial 19 kg | Peak | 3,113.50 |
| 1 July 2026 | Commercial 19 kg | −183.50 | 2,930.00 (calculated) |
| 1 August 2026 | Commercial 19 kg | −192.00 | 2,738.00 (calculated) |
| 1 September 2026 | Commercial 19 kg | +9.50 | 2,747.50 |
| 1 October 2026 | Commercial 19 kg | +62.50 | 2,810.00 |
| 1 November 2026 | Commercial 19 kg | +10.00 | 2,820.00 |

What decides the LPG price in India
The Saudi contract price
India imports a large share of its LPG. The Saudi contract price is the reference. For November 2026 Saudi Aramco set $720 a tonne for propane and $780 for butane. In October it was $680 and $730. So propane rose $40 and butane $50. These figures were reported by MT Newswires and Argaam on 29 October 2026. The commercial cylinder price is market-linked, so a higher benchmark tends to push it up. The home cylinder price is set with policy in mind and did not move this month.
The loss on each cylinder
Oil companies sell the domestic cylinder below cost. The loss is called under-recovery. The chairman of HPCL said the loss was ₹245 a cylinder in October. He expects it to reach ₹327 in November, as reported by Moneycontrol on 23 October 2026. A larger loss does not mean a price rise is coming. It does show the pressure on the companies.
Booking rules
Two booking rules matter this month. They apply to Ujjwala and other homes alike.
- From 7 September 2026 the booking gap is 25 days for all consumers, as reported by The Hindu.
- Biometric Aadhaar checks for domestic users began on 1 October 2026, as reported by The Times of India.
- Mint reported on 26 October 2026 that this e-KYC rule will be enforced more strictly in November. Households that have not finished it may not be able to book a subsidised refill until they do. If you already completed it, you do not need to repeat it.
How to check the price in your own town
- Open your latest cash memo or bill. The amount charged is the real price for you.
- Look at your LPG company’s app or website and open the booking screen. It shows the amount before you pay.
- Ask your distributor for the current rate and the delivery charge. Ask if the charge is already included.
- Compare it with the capital price on this page. A small difference is normal. A large one is worth a question.
Before you book a November refill, open your LPG app and check that your Aadhaar e-KYC shows as complete. The booking gap is 25 days from your last refill. Diwali falls on 8 November, so if you are due, book early in the week.
What to expect next
The next monthly review would normally fall on 1 December 2026. Diwali is on 8 November, so many eateries and sweet shops will buy more commercial cylinders this month. For homes the bigger question is the loss oil companies make on each domestic cylinder. HPCL expects it to reach ₹327 in November, as noted above. That is pressure on the companies, not an announcement of a price change. Past pages are in our daily LPG price archive.
On the delivery side, oil companies have backed an interim rise in distributor commission, as reported by The Hindu BusinessLine on 25 October 2026. The ministry has not approved it yet. The main distributor federations have promised normal home delivery, as reported by The Hindu the same day.
