The LPG cylinder price today in India for Wednesday, 28 October 2026 is the same as yesterday’s LPG price. A 14.2 kg home cylinder still costs ₹942 in Delhi. The rate has held since 7 June 2026. The 19 kg commercial cylinder still reflects the rise of 1 October 2026. Below you will find the four metro rates and capital city prices for all 28 states. For booking help and background, see our main India LPG price page.
Last updated: prices checked on the morning of Wednesday, 28 October 2026. The rates come from Goodreturns (page dated 28 October 2026). We matched the metro figures with two news reports (listed under Sources). All prices are in rupees (₹) per cylinder unless we say per kg.

LPG price in every state and Union Territory capital
The same 14.2 kg cylinder carries a different price in each state. Oil companies fix it city by city, so we use each capital as the reference. A town near your capital may pay a few rupees more or less. Your bill shows the final figure.

| Lakshadweep | Kavaratti | Not available | Not available |
| Puducherry | Puducherry | 954.00 | 2,982.00 |
Why are Ladakh and Lakshadweep not available? Goodreturns has no page for either. Other sites disagree on Leh by more than ₹100, and Kavaratti appears on only one small site. We leave a gap rather than print a guess.
Where sources differ. A Rajya Sabha reply reported by The Indian Express (20 July 2026) matches our table for nearly every capital. It shows Patna at ₹1,040 and Shimla at ₹986.50, a little off the current Goodreturns figures we use. Please confirm with your distributor.
Which capitals pay the most and the least?
The six cheapest capitals sit within ₹8 of each other. They are Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Jaipur, Bhopal and Gandhinagar. All six are between ₹941.50 and ₹949.50. At the top end sit four North-East capitals: Agartala, Gangtok, Aizawl and Imphal. Each is above ₹1,093. We looked at why in Monday’s post.

Spotlight: LPG cylinder price in South India capitals
Today we look at the south. We compare the capitals of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana, plus the Union Territory of Puducherry. The six sit close on a map, but their prices are not the same. Yesterday we looked at the cost per kg of gas, which you can read in yesterday’s post on LPG price per kg.
| Capital | State or UT | Domestic 14.2 kg (₹) | Commercial 19 kg (₹) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bengaluru | Karnataka | 944.50 | 2,898.00 |
| Thiruvananthapuram | Kerala | 951.00 | 2,849.00 |
| Puducherry | Puducherry | 954.00 | 2,982.00 |
| Chennai | Tamil Nadu | 957.50 | 2,983.00 |
| Amaravati | Andhra Pradesh | 966.50 | 3,001.50 |
| Hyderabad | Telangana | 994.00 | 3,065.00 |

Bengaluru has the lowest home cylinder price in the group at ₹944.50. That is only ₹2.50 more than Delhi. Hyderabad is at the top at ₹994. A family there pays ₹49.50 more for each refill than a family in Bengaluru. Over twelve refills in a year that adds up to about ₹594. This is our own sum, not a quoted figure.
The order changes for the commercial cylinder. Thiruvananthapuram has the cheapest 19 kg cylinder in the south at ₹2,849. Hyderabad is again the costliest at ₹3,065. So a hotel in Hyderabad pays ₹216 more per cylinder than one in Thiruvananthapuram. Chennai and Puducherry are almost level on the commercial rate, just ₹1 apart.
Why do prices differ between nearby cities? The oil companies set a price for each market. Local taxes, transport from the bottling plant and other costs all play a part. We have not found an official city-by-city breakdown, so read this as a general reason and not a sourced split.
A note for readers who compare sites. Some news tables mix up the Bengaluru and Hyderabad figures. We use the Goodreturns state pages, which show Bengaluru at ₹944.50 and Hyderabad at ₹994 for the home cylinder. Your bill is always the final word.

What decides the LPG price in India
The Saudi contract price
India imports a large share of its LPG. The Saudi contract price is the reference. For October 2026 it was $680 a tonne for propane and $730 for butane. In September it was $625 and $660. Both rose. These figures come from Reuters (1 October 2026). The November price had not been announced as of 28 October 2026.
The loss on each cylinder
Oil companies sell the domestic cylinder below cost. The loss is called under-recovery. The chairman of HPCL said the loss was ₹245 a cylinder in October. He expects it to reach ₹327 in November, as reported by Moneycontrol on 23 October 2026. A larger loss does not mean a price rise is coming. It does show the pressure on the companies.
Subsidy and booking rules
The Rajya Sabha reply quoted by The Indian Express says the effective price for Ujjwala (PMUY) households is ₹642 for a 14.2 kg cylinder. The market price is ₹942 in Delhi. The difference is the targeted subsidy.
- From 7 September 2026 the booking gap is 25 days for all consumers, as reported by The Hindu.
- Biometric Aadhaar checks for domestic users began on 1 October 2026, as reported by The Times of India.
- Mint reported on 26 October 2026 that this e-KYC rule will be enforced more strictly in November. Households that have not finished it may not be able to book a subsidised refill until they do. If you already completed it, you do not need to repeat it.
How to check the price in your own town
- Open your latest cash memo or bill. The amount charged is the real price for you.
- Look at your LPG company’s app or website and open the booking screen. It shows the amount before you pay.
- Ask your distributor for the current rate and the delivery charge. Ask if the charge is already included.
- Compare it with the capital price on this page. A small difference is normal. A large one is worth a question.
Before you book a November refill, open your LPG app and check that your Aadhaar e-KYC shows as complete. A quick check now can save a blocked booking later.
What to expect next
Oil companies usually review LPG prices on the 1st of each month. The next review would normally fall on 1 November 2026, a week before Diwali on 8 November. No change has been announced as of 28 October 2026. We publish a fresh page every morning and will flag any change at the top. Past pages are in our daily LPG price archive.
There is also news on the delivery side. Oil companies have agreed to recommend an interim rise in the commission paid to LPG distributors, as reported by The Hindu BusinessLine on 25 October 2026. The ministry has not approved it yet. The two main distributor federations said they do not support a strike call by a smaller group and promised normal home delivery, as reported by The Hindu on the same day. This does not change the price you pay today.
